Blood/Plasma Substitute Solution · Blood derivative

Indications

Emergency treatment of shock. Burn therapy. Hypoproteinaemia with or without oedema. Prevention & therapy of cerebral oedema.

Dosage

Hypoproteinaemia: 50-75 gm IV. Burns: Initially 1 mL/lb body wt followed by 5% soln of albumin. Shock: Initially 1 mL/lb body wt followed in 15 or 30 min by 0.5 mL/lb.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Contraindications: Cardiac failure or severe anaemia.
